About Us

My name is Martha Namirembe. I was born in Uganda but spent my childhood in Kenya from 1976 to 1988. I went to Maryhill High School, Mbarara; Tororo Girls School; Progressive Secondary School, Bweyogerere; and the former Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo, where I obtained a diploma in Secretarial Science. I have been working as an office secretary at a public university in Uganda since June 2012. My first job was at a theological school from April 1999 to May 2010.

I love to read and write short stories. My short story, "Heartthrob Teacher Meets His Match," was published in a major Ugandan Sunday newspaper (Mudamuli Ntikita Ntikita, November 14, 2010). I had a column in one of the Ugandan magazines from December 2010 to May 2011 where I wrote short stories from my adult life as ‘Samali.’ I also wrote a series of short stories about heart matters as Samali Ntikita in the same publication's pullout (March/April 2016). I have a podcast and YouTube channel named “Growing up with Teacher Parents” where I share stories from my childhood and adult life.

Ntikinotes is where I share my thoughts, memories, and life stories. It’s like my personal notebook.

Thanks for visiting.
